Guitarist William Hopkins currently teaches and performs throughout the St. Louis area. An exceptional player, Mr. Hopkins is frequently called upon to perform for concerts, weddings, and special events.  He graduated from Saint Louis University in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree and went on to study at the prestigious Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri - Kansas City, where he received his Masters of Music degree in Guitar Performance (2005) under the study of Douglas Niedt.

Mr. Hopkins has performed with chamber ensembles, musical theatre groups, small orchestras, and as a soloist.  In 2004, William was a featured soloist for concerts presented by the Kansas City Guitar Society.  Masterclass performances include Scott Tennant, Muriel Anderson, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and additional studies with Jason Vieaux and Dennis Koster.  As a member of the UMKC Guitar Quartet in 2004, he performed his breathtaking arrangement of Rossini's William Tell Overture (
audio clip available) for an audience nearly three hundred miles away!  The live performance at UMKC was transmitted by satellite to a St. Louis University Masterclass given by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, who praised his work.

William Hopkins is an outstanding music educator with over ten years of private teaching experience.  He maintains a large studio of enthusiastic guitar students of all ages and ability levels.  Having studied with world famous soloists, he possesses first-hand knowledge of a wide variety of teaching and performing styles.  His diverse repertoire ranges from classical and jazz to country, blues, and pop favorites.  In addition to his extensive career as a private teacher, Mr. Hopkins also has the distinct honor of working as an instructor at Saint Louis University and East Central College.
